I just discovered a spinach leaf in my hair. I've no idea when it got there or how long it had been hanging around but, considering I haven't actually been in the kitchen since this morning it must have been a really long time! Today was my day off and I made the most of it by meeting Dad for lunch. He just got a puppy - a chocolate lab called Duke, who is just the cutest thing in the entire world! Shame Tom isn't a fan of animals or people and won't let me get one too. Anyway, dad and I had lunch and then I went to meet one of my suppliers and we went to Whitstable oyster tasting, which was great fun!

I get quite sad when people brush off oysters and other foods (like snails or crickets) because they think it will be gross. They really don't know what they're missing out on! Oysters are absolutely amazing if they're prepared correctly - as are snails and crickets, coincidentally. Tom won't let me put either of the latter on the menu, though, and only let's me serve oysters when I beg. He gets bored of me following him around going 'please Tom, please Tom, please Tom' over and over again and eventually gives in.

Anyway...what was I saying? Oh, the spinach leaf! Well, I just got back home, went for a shower and found a spinach leaf in my hair! I wonder if I had it in my hair all day and, if so, why didn't anybody say anything?

I think I may have to make more marshmallow cookies; Ernie ate all of the last batch.

Marshmallow biscuits? Those sound a little peculiar?

How are you, Hannah?

It's just like chocolate-chip cookies but with tiny marshmallows instead? They're very sweet but tasty. Well, Ernie seems to like them anyway.

I'm good thanks, Padma. How are you?

Don't let Parvati know you make these. She might very well beg; she's completely addicted to anything really sweet!

I'm all right. Better than I have been. Busy, which is always good. Thanks. Where are you working these days?

I'll be sure to keep it quiet then!

Well that's good! And I guess it's better than not being busy, isn't it? I'm cooking at the Leaky now, so you just have to come by one day for lunch! I'll make sure and have some marshmallow cookies for you too (and some for you to take for Parvati too).

You're just down the Lane every day! I'll definitely pop by for lunch sometime soon. Do you enjoy it? Oh, I bet you get to see all sorts of interesting characters!

I love it! I mean, cooking is all I was really ever good at so it's great to get paid to do it. And yeah, there's some really interesting characters hang about the pub.

Hannah Abbott, cooking is not the only thing you were ever good at. I can't believe you'd say something like that about yourself. It makes me want to run over to the Leaky right now, and give you a great big hug.

You'll have to share some stories one day!

Well, I was ok at Herbology and Charms and I can produce a pretty decent shield charm but cooking is the one thing that I'm really good at.

I've heard oysters feel like the human tongue, so I don't eat them. That's just what I've heard, though. It may not be true. I'm not an expert on oysters.

Maybe they thought the spinach leaf was an avant garde accessory! I bet you'll see everyone wearing one in their hair tomorrow.

Would you happen to have any marshmallow cookies in need of a good home (or stomach)?

They don't feel like the human tongue!

And I'll have started a craze!

Of course, Sal. I always save some for you.

Really? What do they feel like then? They must have an odd texture!

Brilliant! Now I won't have to sneak in and kidnap (cookienap?) the cookies myself!

They feel like oysters? I don't really know how else to describe them! Come by for dinner one night and I'll make you some.
